Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in the North Wales market town of Llangollen. From the Wharf you can embark on either a horse drawn boat trip along the feeder for the main canal, or a motorised aqueduct cruise which takes you across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford. Both these trips take in the magical sights and sounds of the beautiful Llangollen Canal. Longer horse drawn trips can be arranged for large groups. Lunches and cream teas can be pre-ordered for the aqueduct trips. The whole canal in this area is now a World Heritage Site.
We also have a self steer day hire boat for groups of up to 10 people, on our purpose built 32' narrow boat the "Dydd Un". This is an ideal way to take a leisurely cruise along the Llangollen Canal and across the unforgettable Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. This is a perfect way for a family, group of friends or a corporate team to have their own private boat for the day.
The Tea Room and Gift shop at Llangollen Wharf is located in the old canal warehouse. All our food is prepared and cooked on the premises so that you know it will always be fresh.
We serve breakfast and a variety of light lunches throughout the day. Welsh Cream Teas are always available with our own home made scones and bara brith complemented by jam and clotted cream. Our speciality is our home made cakes all baked and iced on the premises. The selection varies from day to day as fresh cakes are baked daily.
A selection of herb and fruit teas are available in addition to hot chocolate and freshly ground coffee.
The Tea Room is open at weekends throughout the year and daily from 20th March 2010 to 31st October 2010.
